|I. Intensive Course
This course is designed for learners who are interested in studying Chinese full-time. The academic year is divided into two semesters, each consisting of 18 weeks. Classes are three hours per day, five days a week. For information about holidays, please refer to NCTU’s academic calendar.
The objective of the course is to enhance learners’ listening, speaking, reading and writing skills in Chinese. Course materials include the Practical Audio-Visual Chinese Book and Far East Everyday Chinese Book series, supplemented with cultural lectures and activities. The goal is to provide learners with diverse learning opportunities and immerse learners in the joy of learning Chinese.
II. Evening Courses
Classes take place in the evenings. Three to five courses of different levels and themes are offered per semester. Each course consists of a two-hour evening class, once a week for 18 weeks. For information about holidays, please refer to NCTU’s academic calendar.
The courses are designed for foreign professionals who are interested in learning Chinese, although international students at NCTU are also welcome. Course materials vary according to the actual course content. For more information, please refer to posters and announcements for evening courses.
III. Regular Courses
These courses provide an opportunity for foreign professionals to take NCTU’s regular Chinese credit courses. All relevant regulations and class hours are the same as those for regular Chinese credit courses. Upon completion of the course, the learner will receive a certificate of study issued by the Language Teaching and Research Center.
